Christian Dior Fall 2011: moment in history

The final collection created by John Galliano for Christian Dior. It breaks my heart to realise that I won’t be able to enjoy this so truly romantic, very Parisian and utterly chic perfection any longer. Yes, Dior will find some other designer to replace Galliano, but for me, the newbie, whoever he/she is, will always be a replacement, a painful reminder of what Galliano did for the company and how the company treated him at the end. Life can be so unfair sometimes… But for now…

Enjoy the remnants of a fashion fairy tale…

  2. Hi LittleRus!!!! Happy Monday! I'm actually so glad to see that you have touched on this topic (and after reading your post below) when it seems like so many are just sort of avoiding this subject. I'll be honest with you, John Galliano was my favourite designer! I actually have not had time to look up this Fall 2011 final collection and I'm so glad you posted! This collection is gorgeous, just as one would expect....absolutely stunning! It has all the elements that a genius line should have - from stunning and beautifully aesthetically pleasing feminine beauty, so utterly stylish and sassy attitude. Very sad indeed.

    Lovely Monday to you!

  4. Life is at times difficult. I do not know him, but seems like he is going through some hard times.

Things said that not should have been.
All the good in reparation of body and mind.
    No racism. Ever.

  5. Hey LittleRus. I agree with you in the fact that whoever will come to replace Galliano will have so much difficulties to make us forget Galliano's work. But I don't think you can say that it's unfair after what he had said, don't you think?

I'm sad, because I've loved is work so much, but such a man, with such ideas can no longer be at the head of Dior.

Here is my opinion. But love the show anyway, I wanted to cry!
Have you seen my article about Dior's show?

Hope to see you soon on my blog.

  7. Natalie, what a beautiful post and, indeed, a moment in history. We were so lucky to live alongside the era of Galliano and witness first hand the brillians of his designs.
