“Oh Ines”, – C said. – “She is the icon of chic in France".
I couldn’t have agreed more. The very first supermodel to sign an exclusive modelling contract with Chanel, Inès became Lagerfeld’s muse and the face of everything bearing Chanel logo. Then – a face for Marianne, the symbol of France. Then there was her own clothes label and later, Roger Vivier that she successfully revived in 2002. She married, had two daughters, Nine and Viollette who look just as amazing as their mother. She presented a creation by Gaultier for his Spring/Summer 2009 haute couture collection at the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. In 2011 she was one of the models at Chanel Spring/Summer fashion show and became a face of L’Oreal Paris. And, as if her life wasn’t busy and exciting enough, she wrote a book.
A style guide to Parisian chic…
First time I heard about the book, I quietly died of an intense overwhelming joy that filled my brain almost to the point of bursting. I placed an order there and then and spent several months waiting patiently (well as if…) for my copy to arrive. I read it in one sitting, the book was too precious and interesting to leave it for later.
In this beautiful edition illustrated by Inès herself, she generously shares her secrets on looking chic and beautiful, organising your wardrobe, decorating your house, finding the most amazing Parisian hotels, boutiques, shops, cafes and restaurants.
She basically creates a fashion and lifestyle bible made of precise tips accompanied by beautiful outfits modelled by Nine and photographed by Benoit Peverelli.
I loved this book so much that I decided to host a giveaway and send a copy of the Guide to one of my readers. I wish I could do it sooner. I rushed to buy the second copy as soon as I finished mine only to find out that the book was completely sold out BEFORE the official release date of 4 April. And so I had to sit tight and wait until it was reprinted. God knows, it was difficult for me to keep such a secret from you, but luckily I didn’t have to wait for too long this time…
Now, the “official rules”. All you need to do for your chance to win a freshly printed beautiful copy of this amazing book is to follow Fashion by Love by clicking on the “follow” button on on the bottom of the page and then leave a comment. For additional entries, you can also follow me on Twitter, Bloglovin’ and Facebook or mention this giveaway on your blog – please leave additional comments letting me know that you followed me via any of the above sources or posted about the giveaway.
The winner will be announced on Monday 25 April 2011. Good luck!
