As soon I saw first photos from June/July editorial from Vogue Paris I got a feeling of déjà vu. Something looked very familiar in a way Isabeli Fontana was styled by Emmanuelle Alt and photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

And then, in a few seconds I realised “Linda!” The beautiful story shot by Mert and Marcus was a fresh intake to the original photographed by Steven Meisel for the February issue of Vogue Italia back in 1989.

I’ve always knew that fashions return, but it makes me smile to see the return of editorials, too. It just proves that classics never get out of fashion – all you have to do is to brush some dust off and get them back to their full glory.

  1. I do feel a bit weird about re-runs in editorials though! But these are both gorgeous, so no harm done here, I guess.. ;)

  3. No wonder it felt so familiar! When I saw the photos I knew it was Isabeli Fontana, because so it said at the bottom of the editorial, but her face reminded me of someone else. Yes, Linda! Thank you, Little Rus, for this retrospective. How I love older editorials, it's nice seeing them return. :)

Not sure I like it though! Both look pretty much the same to me, only the clothes change... not my cup of tea...
