Best Spring/Summer 2012 campaigns

After reading a story about Vogue’s favourite Spring/Summer 2012 campaigns published on their website, I decided to create my own list that, as it turns out, is somewhat different from the one offered by the “fashion bible”, particularly when it came to choosing the Roberto Cavalli ads that I’ve already blogged about.

I also found it interesting that they mentioned Gisele being the most featured model having landed three campaigns including Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo and Givenchy where as I was under impression that this season was particularly good for Saskia de Brauw and Arizona Muse. Still relatively new, the girls were chosen by some of the biggest names in the industry and became faces of several brands. While Arizona Muse was chosen by, lets just do some maths here, Louis Vuitton Cruise, Fendi, Isabel Marant, KARL by Karl Lagerfeld, Massimo Dutti and, lets not forget, Next, Saskia starred in Chanel, MaxMara, Loewe, KARL by Karl Lagerfeld and Zara.

Don’t get me wrong, I adore Gisele and think that she is one of the most gorgeous models out there, but I used to be an accountant… A job title that sums things up. I also believe that it’s worth learning a few new names now and then rather than going with the obvious.

Now, the grumpy bit of over, I would like to present you with my choice of the most gorgeous campaigns for the upcoming season. They made it to the post because I like images that draw me in like an interesting story, a new beautiful experience, and make garments and accessories look desirable. I adore the sharpness and simplicity of black & white photos, the Longchamp ad that makes me smile every time I see it, and the macaroon sweetness and ice-cream coolness of colourful pastels that give me bubbles of endorphins. I think each of these images really is worth a thousand words (and will, most likely, generate even more in revenue).

  2. I always make a top of my favourite campaigns and your selection is wonderful. Black and white photography or exuberant colours, a story (I absolutely love the Dolce & Gabbana campaign), something that makes me smile, captures my thoughts or simply makes me daydream, these are the campaigns that I like and want to see more often.

I haven't done the math, but I did have the impression that Arizona appears in more spring campaigns than any other model. :)

    Have a wonderful day! xo

    1. The Mulberry one is very sweet and almost made it to the list, particularly because I really like spending time in Brighton in spring and summer and those photos reminded me of gorgeous sunny days by the sea.

  5. This season I actually found it super hard to choose an absolute favourite campaign (actually impossible). I loved Chanel (also the one with the swing), the pastels at LV, the italian sex appeal at D&G... oh and I also liked Prabal Gurungs!

    1. I added Prabal Gurung one now. :) I loved it very much, too, but since I decided to limit everything to top 10, I had to leave it out. x

  7. I agree with a lot of your choices, and I think this campaign season is fabulous. I think Prabal Gurung's campaign is missing from this list though! xx

  8. Great maths. I love to see Arizona Muse. The black and white campaigns are often more interesting yes, I love the one from Chanel. Also the pastel Louis Vuitton draw my attention. The Mulberry one felt a bit predictive unfortunately, although I did like it. The D&G campaign must be one of my favorites.

    1. Hi Christel, glad you liked my choices. I like Mulberry ads very much. I think they always have a theme that flows from one season to another and I like it very much. It didn't make it to the post because I had to stop at 10+1, but I did love the images.
