Outfit inspiration: Paris fashion week

06/03/2012

Sonia Rykiel Fall/Winter 2010
With a slight delay here I give you my Paris Fashion Week inspired outfit. This time I decided to go for nudes and greys with a touch of perfect rich red courtesy of Yves Saint Laurent. The Rick Owens jacket was the last minute choice to shield my imaginary fashionista from the elements as the weather became colder and rainy. The idea is to wear it casually, unzipped or wrapped around in a manner of a scarf – a wonderful thing about Rick Owens clothes is that you can wear them in so many different ways.

Another note will be about the perfume. I know there are many beautiful fragrances, but personally Serge Lutens is my number one whenever I think of a French perfume. His Feminitè du Bois is so quintessentially Parisian and will definitely suit this particular look.

  4. That Rick Owen jacket looks so incredible, how chic and versatile with that collar. That would be a jacket one wants to keep forever. Love how you put the splash of red to the outfit. The entire pairing makes me think of the character Lily from Gossip Girl.

    1. You are right, Christel. I think she would actually wear something like this, although I didn't think of anyone in particular when I was creating this post... Just chose things I loved, including that incredibly gorgeous jacket... It would be a dream to have it and yes, I would definitely keep it forever. x

    1. Well, at least the perfume is not as expensive as the rest of the outfit ;) Lutens has several gorgeous fragrances and I am sure you will find the one you love the most. Personally, his perfume is the only one I ever wear. x

  8. Hey Little Rus! Everything about this outfit screams sophistication!!! I love it! I can't get over that jacket! The cut of it is gorgeous. I really like the collar, the panel in the front, cut of the back and color. I really need to check out that perfume. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on my post. It really got me thinking. There have had to have been extenuating circumstances (shoes too small, ill model, etc.) because I've seen models walk in much harder shoes. I guess in time, it will come out. If you hear anything, let me know. I'm curious. HAHA Hope you're having a fabulous day.

    1. Kim, there are a few beautiful ones by Serge Lutens, but you really have to go and smell each and every one of them because they are so so so individual.

I wrote a story about my first Serge Lutens perfume last year here http://fashionedbylove.blogspot.com/2011/03/magic-of-scent-serge-lutens-and-his.html

  9. What a beautiful selection! Are you sure this is not a giveaway you pulled together?!! ;-)

I'll be craving those sunglasses for days, even weeks.
    Love them.

PS. Maybe someone already told you but the Russian designer Nikolay Krasnikov sent those who commented on your post such a kind email. It was a really nice gesture; something I certainly wasn't expecting.

  14. This pale palette is perfect for a sophisticated Parisian outfit, and the choice of a Rick Owens jacket was great to give a more edgy/rock touch. Serge Lutens is also a favourite and my scents are Fleurs d'Oranger and Fleurs de Citronnier...
