Leather jacket was the very first thing I acquired after moving to England almost a decade ago. Coming from a country where most leather items were black, resembled a bulky armour and looked very KGB, I was excited about something completely different. Buying a jacket was, in fact, my husband’s idea who said that I simply couldn’t be without it. He then took me to the shops and after an hour long search, I finally found myself at Nine West trying on a classic leather blazer – light and buttery soft, in a delicious shade of cream that somehow matched my highlights.

I wore it for years until it became too obvious that the beloved treasure got a size too big for me. Although the jacket had to retire in my wardrobe, the love for that softness and my need for something so incredibly versatile remained. Eventually I ended up with a duo of a tan blazer and a shorter and frillier ivory design that were perfect for throwing over a light silk dress or wearing with a pair of jeans and cosy cashmere sweater whether it was a crisp winter day, cool summer evening or sun-kissed dreamy autumn gorgeousness.

I love my leather jackets very much. They get a lot of wear and mix well anything as a proof that once you find something that suits your style and wardrobe, it will become almost literally a timeless item.

  1. I lived without a leather jacket - or rather, between leather jackets - for a long time. As a teenager I was lucky to acquire a vintage leather jacket from the 1960s from one of my elderly neighbours. I wore it far more than she had, until the lining gave out and I finally had to give it up. I had loved it so much that nothing, it seemed, could replace it. I finally found something suitable last year in Rome; it was love at first sight and I can't believe I went so long without!

  20. Number 6 is perfectiooonnnn!!!! I love the idea of leather jackets, but can you believe I don't actually own a real leather one? Every single season I try them on, decide to wait until the sale and then I forget about it :) Need to buy one this winter!!! Remind me about it? haha :p Btw I imagine it's a great memory that you bought your first leather jacket when you came to England :)
Hope you're having a great weekend Natalia! Enjoy the last days of summer :)

  21. You described the story of the purchase of your first leather jacket so lovely, dear Natalia! What a pity that this jacket is now to big for you ... I can´t live without leather jackets, too, and I don´t know how many I own ;) Especially for the Bavarian weather the material is perfect and I´m looking forward to my next leather jacket, too, so many thanks for your great selection!

Wish you a wonderful rest of the weekend.

  25. A leather jacket entered into my wardrobe for the first time only two years ago. After looking everywhere for a model that could be both casual and feminine, my parents found the perfect one at a local fair (made in Tuscany by local artisans!) and gave it to me as a Christmas present. It's one of my favourite items and since it is black I would be more than happy to welcome another one in tan or light taupe, so your beautiful selection gives me plenty of inspiration! Take care, Caterina

  26. I love leather for fall! I LOVE all the jackets you picked. I've never seen leather trench coats, but love that idea. I love the color of number 2 and number 6. It's so classic and chic. I love the moto style and the quilted sleeves. I also love number 9!! It's girly, yet edgy with the leather.
