Timeless chic: Akris Spring 2006

Akris Spring 2006 ready-to-wear-2

Feminine, sensual and sharp, just like those august evenings that make us think of autumn, but still reach for a beautiful silk dress, just one more time, holding onto every particle of summer resting on the skin like a delicate powder.

Vogue Italia, January 1973 (I am not 100% sure that this is the right photo, but it made sense to me…)

Inspired by the 1970s and a portrait of Anjelica Huston photographed by Richard Avedon, Akris Spring/Summer 2006 collection designed by Albert Kriemler was beyond any trends or time frames and perfect in every way, from the pleats and subtle bows, to muted colours of sand, aubergine and smoke to the gorgeous combinations of weightless silks and strong but soft leather.

Something beautiful to make us dream a little romantic dream… And hear that gentle knock as the autumn throws a handful of gold leaves into our window.

  2. Oh, it's so beautiful! Delicate, but strong too - it had to be, if it was inspired by Angelica. LOVE the last three looks.

  4. Hi Natalia, that pic of Angelica Houston is a great source of inspiration indeed. The collection (shame on me I didnt remember, neither know was so old) is so feminine and graceful, I like the movement that the pleats create, also the soft tones are really refined!:) Kisses dear, have a good day! xo

  5. Those photos of Angelina Huston are divine... she was such a wonderful, nature beauty, it makes me wish all the more that she had chosen to age gracefully. Every time I see her now I can't help but think that she doesn't look like herself. Still, she is beautiful inspiration for a beautiful collection.
