It's been two years since I wrote my first post about natural and organic make-up products. Two whole years. It may seem like a long time or a brief moment in life, but some things certainly did change. My approach to make-up remained a constant - I don't use much and frankly prefer going bare face whenever I get a chance. When I do apply some extra coverage and colour I turn to my pots, a couple of pencils (one for the lips and the other one - for the eyes) and a mascara. That's all.
I know some may find it shocking, but the reason I prefer to stick with my mini collection is because it works, never overloads my skin cells with unnecessary chemicals and does the job wonderfully. Perhaps, I should have a powder, but since I don't use it in summer, it will be added comes September.
And here are my little miracle workers. All are from RMS Beauty, my most favourite make-up range created by Rose-Marie Swift who is know for her all-natural, no-nonsense, no-rubbish approach to beauty. My love affair with RMS began with an Un-cover up and then slowly moved to the lipsticks, luminizer and, finally, the latest addition to the range, the Buriti bronzer. The most brilliant thing about these formulas is that the products are based on raw food principles, can work in synergy, almost interchangeable, give you a flawless finish and take care of your skin in the process. Although the jars are small, they lasts for ages - in my case, for about a year, making the line both ergonomic and affordable.
Now lets talk about the content...
RMS Beauty Un-cover up (bottom right). My very first RMS product, which I have now used for over two years and would not swap it for anything. It is a foundation and concealer in one. I use it to cover little imperfections, under my eyes and from time to time - all over my face. Once applied it looks like the second skin and is invisible. I do feel that the oils (coconut, cocoa, jojoba and castor) make my skin smoother, especially if I wear the product for a few hours, and also provide some natural SPF. 22 works best for my Eastern European complexion, though I've also tried 11, which worked during winter or when used under my eyes. Available here and here.
RMS Beauty Living luminizer (top left) The cult product loved by fashion models, the luminizer does precisely what it says on the box. It illuminates your skin making it look as if it glows from within, but doesn't make it look greasy or glittery. You can use it as a highlighter, sparingly on its own or on top of Un-cover up. In addition, I also mix a little bit of liminizer with a touch of un-cover up to create an organic version of touché éclat and use it under my eyes. Available here, here and here.
RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Illusive (bottom left). I picked the Illusive because I wanted a matt lipstick with a cool rose/plum hue and this one didn't disappoint. You can make it look very natural and barely there, just enhancing the natural colour of your lips, but gently dubbing a tiny quantity on your lips or build up with layers because it really is very pigmented. I also use it as a blusher (again, you need TINY amount - literally dab the lightest dot with your finger and then blend-blend-blend...) and eye shadow (just a hint, followed by an eye liner). Made with coconut, argan, jojoba and castor oils and shea butter. Available here and here.
RMS Beauty Lip Shine in Moment (top right). The brick red shade of this glossy balm was originally created for Giselle Bundchen, but it works for most skin tones changing its original hue slightly depending on the colour of your lips. On mine it looks like toffee with a touch of pink. It is glossy, but has a lipstick rather than lipgloss consistency, and feels really moisturising on the lips thanks to the moringa oil. If you like a no-make-up makeup look or want a natural nude shade, Moment is for you. Available here, here and here.
RMS Beauty Buriti bronzer (middle right). This is my latest acquisition and the first bronzer I bought since 2003 because I just couldn't jump on this whole bronzer wagon mainly because most of them made the skin look orange or too Essex footballer's wife. I ordered the Buriti bronzer because it was made by Rose-Marie and I just knew that her aesthetics she wouldn't produce anything that looks cheap or unnatural. And boy, I love this one! It is very light on the skin and once applied creates a sun-kissed effect, as if it was my natural tan, the browny-pink tint that is light, non-glittery and transparent. Also perfect for contouring and can be used instead of luminizer if you have dark skin. Available here, here, here and here.
