Inspired by Pantone: sand

The elegance of a woman wearing a gorgeous biscuity coloured clothes is undeniable. I've always thought that the Italians did it best - after all, those ancient walls touched by softly painted frescos and the golden hues of Venice couldn't have been more inspirational for the eye and refined sense of style.
Essentially beige, sand is just one of the beautiful colours within one of the most scrumptious palettes out there, so instead of focusing on the trendy side of things (and yes, Sand was one of the Spring/Summer 2014 Pantone choices), lets think of the quiet allure of light browns and their timelessness.
And what about the wonderful names, often just as tempting as the garments... From comforting oatmeal, sweet honey (I borrowed this one from Burberry - how clever are they!) and sober ecru to cafe au lait, tan, caramel and camel, they are music to my ears and an absolute delight for the eyes!

Building a perfect wardrobe or looking for some season transitional pieces? Don't forget about these colours because it's impossible to go wrong with a classic camel coat, sand-coloured trench or a light amber dress. Pair with browns, red, burgundy, blues, greys or black. And if you feel that the new favourite hue suddenly makes you look washed out, just add a bit of cream or white to frame the face.

And now - a few beautiful shopping ideas...
