The model to watch: Melina Gesto

Melina Gesto at Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2015
Do you remember this beautiful girl? I wrote about her last May, which now seems like an eternity, at least, in fashion terms. Back then, only about six months into serious modelling, Melina Gesto was already the one to watch... And so I did... And blogged about it. I had a feeling documenting her victories within the industry would make a story that becomes more and more fascinating as the time goes by...

By August Melina appeared in Vogue Paris, German Vogue and Numero, fronted MaxMara | Weekend and Cerrutti 1881 campaign.

Then, in a matter of weeks, she became one of the rising stars of the fashion week booking some of the biggest shows and walking for Giles, Fendi, Dries van Noten, Acne Studios, Christian Dior, Chanel and Stella McCartney - if those name don't get your fashion-loving heart beat faster, I don't know what will...

This shot of Melina from Stella McCartney backstage beauty was used by British Vogue for their Spring beauty trends on-line report

Seeing Melina on a catwalk alongside Edie Campbell, Saskia de Brauw, Jessica Stam, Joan Smalls, Mariacarla Boscono, and Gisele Bundchen, conquering London, Milan and Paris, was a joy! She looked incredible. Poised, confident, beautiful... As if she's done it for years.

I know I've said it before, but I am going to say it again... Watch this young model and remember her name because Melina Gesto really is going to be among the very best. Well, lets be honest, she already is...

  2. I'll definitely be watching! Good for her!
