Dressing up for Christmas

A few weeks ago I have found myself on Motilo, an online platform where one can play a virtual stylist and dream up the most fantastical outfits. And, of course, I got a little bit addicted to it, for both the fun and inspiration. It really got my creative juices flowing again so much so that I've created not one but four different looks for my Christmas post this year.

I was thinking Christmas Eve, followed by the actual Christmas day and Boxing day, plus an extra idea for the famous "ugly Christmas jumper" everyone keeps talking about.

Look 1 { Christmas Eve }

Pretty pastels, crystal jewels, bows and that gorgeous hour-glass shape the decade was so famous for. Do tuck the sweater into the skirt to expose the bow detail of the belt.

Look 2 { Christmas Day }

I really wanted a bit of glamour for the day, but also the shapes and textures that would let the body move freely (and be fed well if the feast is served). If you feel like eating an extra slice of cake or mince pie, you will still be able to breath and conceal the happy tummy under that clever draping.
And because there's no Christmas without sparkles, I mixed Marco Bicego earrings with some rubies  from the Diamond Boutique and a precious ring from Astley Clarke.

Look 3 { Boxing day }

The day when a lot of us wake up feeling a bit concussed and too tired to move, and simply dream of having a pyjama day. This outfit will allow you to relax and feel like you are indeed wearing your most comfortable lounge wear, but in the most glamorous way. And how gorgeous are those sandals!?

Look 4 { The way with ugly Christmas jumper }

This one can be an alternative for any of the above looks, especially if you are a bit of a rebel (who, however, still wants to look put together). At first I thought of a simple solution of mixing knits and denims with a pair of Oxygen boots, but, whilst browsing the Mastershoe MyShu, spotted a pair of Dr Martens and created this outfit instead.

Which one is your favourite?

  9. What a lovely series of looks! I must say, though, they're making me think my holiday looks are entirely too casual ;) But since I live in Vancouver and it will undoubtedly be pouring rain, I'll be sticking with looks involving Wellington boots - if I leave the house at all during the holidays, that is!

  13. I like the first three looks! This makes me realize that I never dress up for Christmas. It's the time of the year when I wear a tracksuit, don't put on make-up and just relax at home.

  14. Oooh these looks are perfect, too bad it's summer for me so sweaters and coats are a definite no lol! As much as I wish I could wear them though :o(

  18. Such thought-out and gorgeous looks, so well done! #1 and #2 are my faves in the bunch. While I've always just gone for something comfy on Christmas (mostly the good ol' pajamas) I love the idea of dressing up :)
