The wind of change is sweeping through the fashion industry it seems. Last week we've got the Gucci news and today Ports 1961 announced the appointment of Natasa Cagalj as theirs new creative director.
Slovenian-born Central St Martin's graduate who has been working in the industry for over fifteen years began her career at Cerruti before spending four years working at Lanvin as Elbaz' right-hand designer, then moving to Stella McCartney in 2007 and, from 2012 consulting fashion brands privately.
Lets hope that with a head full of ideas and an impressive portfolio to be proud of, Cagalj will transform one of my once-upon-a-time favourite brands from the often awkwardly tailored homage it's become into a completely new, fresh and unique Ports 1961 that leaves us excited rather than confused.
Her first collection will be revealed in February 2015 during the fashion week.
