Now & Then No. 1

Fashion works in circles, that's a well-known fact and, although originality still exists, otherwise fashion would never move forward, it is, indeed, the past that provides the nourishment for many creative minds working in the industry today.

You have seen those echoes from the past. Used as inspiration for a collection or an editorial, they can add a certain charm of timelessness and nostalgia to the airbrushed perfection, but when copied blindly in hope that nobody would know, give the brain a feeling of confusion and odd after taste.

I've written about many of those moments in the past constantly thinking of the best way to share them without going into long-winded monologues. Finally, it clicked. Please welcome the "Now & Then" series - hope you'll enjoy.

  1. It's absolutely remarkable how similar these images are! Although, interestingly, I thought the shot from 1954 looked just as modern as the one from 2012 - the only real difference is the hairstyles.

  2. Oh,my Goodness....!!!
SO vibrant and absolutely gorgeous idea,Natalia!
"Now&Then" should be one of my favorietes!:)))

  3. That's great! I loves this LV campaign and had no idea there are same shots from Vogue from 50ties!

    xx, Anna

  4. Natalia, I am so glad you are doing this! I loved that LV campaign and didn't know it was a spin-off from '54. WOW!
