Bucket bags are my style delight. Even the very thought brings a wave of nostalgia mixed with an anticipation of fun and freedom. I was pleased to see the return of a bucket last year because the shape is one of the best ever created - it gives enough structure to work as a smart day bag, but also plenty of huggable, delicious softness to hold onto when you need a little palpable comfort.
Admittedly, it was the buckets and drawstrings that I carried as a teenager and during my time at University. I had a wonderful collection of them, from solid classics in tan leather to linen, silk and vinyl coated summer styles I ended up loving so much that we became inseparable until I moved countries and left them behind.
Later I've realised how wrong I was because my wardrobe feels rather incomplete without a good old drawstring. So, since this bag is on my bucket list and, as it happens, a Spring 2015 trend, the timing and the choice couldn't have been better. In my mind, it's a medium sized softy in brown leather, but I wouldn't mind the black or burgundy one either...
