The great pretender

I find myself wandering between the past and the present now and, as insane as it feels for my poor little brain, the opportunity to visually dive into the history of fashion in a matter of minutes is incredibly exciting. Not that I want to hang around the imaginary dusty shelves for too long, but those stories and photographs give me so much inspiration and, most importantly, ability to understand the  attention-worthy nuances of the present and the ones I can happily skip.

With this in mind, I decided to turn to The great pretender, one of my favourite editorials and the story that reflects my mood perfectly and not only admire it, but find the original images that (in my opinion) inspired each shot because, as I have said before, it is only by knowing the history we can truly appreciate the present. Besides, it's fun...

  6. A surprising number of these images were new to me - it seems hard to believe but no matter how much we look through archives, I truly believe there is not just something to learn but always something to discover, whether it is truly new or just a new way of looking at it.
