It seems, besides many other talents, Stella McCartney also knows the secret of wearing nude tones without looking washed out and that is why I couldn't help but continue talking about her Spring 2009 collection for a little longer.
My love of caramel and nude hues is not a secret - I could live in them. Looking back, I suspect that the feeling was heavily influenced by Armani, Max Mara, Calvin Klein and Trussardi as well as my vision of the elegant Italian women I saw in movies and on the pages of fashion magazines. The only small, but significant problem has always been the colour itself - it really is rather difficult to wear, especially with an Eastern European complexion like mine.
Then I thought of McCartney and turned to her for inspiration. The idea of blending a touch of white isn't new, but the outfit certainly is and I absolutely adore it, both the original version and my high street alternative. So perfect for the summer in the city. Still struggling to believe it's 2009...
