Fashion week

Fashion week is here. The exciting time. The busy time. Sometimes I compare the fashion month to wedding preparations, so I approach it exactly the way I did my "big day": get a dress that looks pretty and fits well, then focus all my energy and attention on finding the most perfect shoes to match. Should I mention that our wedding was a pretty low-key, intimate and very special affair? Oh, yes... And it felt good (still does).

What about you? How do you feel and get prepared for the fashion month?

I thought I's start this season with a story from Harper's Bazaar, which, coincidentally, was short in 2002, the year I got married, and now gives a wonderful glimpse into what fashion was like back then... Fewer designers, same classic wardrobe statements, Balenciaga strictly for those in the know, Carolyn looking exactly the same she does now and Bill Cunningham capturing street style fashions.

P.S. I've just found out that Cosmopolitan is running their Blog Awards again and it would mean a great deal to me if you could follow the link and nominate www.fashionedbylove.co.uk as Best for Fashion blog. Thank you so much for support!

  4. I remember this editorial well - how times have changed since then! It's a strange thing for a fashion blogger to say, but I don't get very excited for fashion weeks in general. I think my attitude is very much like it was in 2002; I'm excited to see collections from designers I love, and hopeful I'll discover a few new ones that intrigue me, but overall, I participate only as much as I have time to, which differs from season to season.
