Unexpected pimple that can ruin our day instantly, shadowy bags under the eyes appearingout of nowhere simply because life is too short and parties are too fabulous to think of sleep, and, as if this isn't enough, there'll be hair that simply refuses to shine and stay glossy no matter how patiently and thoroughly a girl blow dries it.

As the fashion week approaches re-living these little nightmares stresses me out more than the final choice of an outfit or upcoming weather forecast. Those I can deal with, it's easy, in comparison. All black, high heels and a smile, saved from the rain by a cab journey.

But the beauty thing.. Appearance matters, especially in the industry when a pretty face is very much one of the main money makers, so whether you like the sound of it or not, a girl got to look good, very good, always. And since being stressed about such trivial and superficial things is not something I'd like to occupy my mind with, I let these beauty workers occupy my bathroom instead. Because they work and never let me down.

1. De Mamiel Altitude Oil is a combination of beautiful and powerful essentials oils that can protect and strengthen the immune system, especially when you are travelling or facing large crowds.  Put a few drops on a tissue and inhale the healing and relaxing scent. {buy}

2. Malin & Goetz 10% Sulfur Paste is your ultimate answer to an annoying pimple as it will help to dry out the spot, reduce the redness and heal the skin overnight (well, if it's a very angry spot, then you may need a couple of days). I know there are a few similar products available out there, but I would not swap this little bottle for any other alternatives because it has the highest percentage of sulfur, plus zinc and salicylic acid and, very important, talc-free (talc has been linked to asbestos and asbestos has been linked to cancer, so I am not a fan, as you can tell) {buy}

3. RMS Beauty Living Luminizer is one of the industry's favourites. I use it on a cupid bow, under my brows, on the bridge of my nose, collar bone etc. etc. etc, to add a natural glow. I also mix with it RMS Un-Coverup and use under my eyes the way girls use their Touch Eclat. {buy}

4. Mauli Rituals Sacred Union Oil is a multitasker that work for both the body and the hair as a nourishing treatment (and occasional perfume replacer in my case), as well as an amazing and incredibly indulgent bath oil - add a few drops to water after a busy and stressful day and let your worries melt away. {buy}

5. Tan Organic Self-Tanning Oil is my favourite way to fake a beautiful glow whatever the weather. It's so good I dedicated an entire post to this product (and a few other organic self-tanners in case you want to try something different). {buy}

6. I've heard about Prrty Peaschun from Lisa Eldridge who confessed relying on it when getting models and celebrities ready for photoshoots and red carpets appearances. This is a temporary solution to making your bare legs look gorgeous and blemish-free as well as adding a little colour if needed. It now comes in two sizes and I find it very convenient to get a travel size portion once in a while, just to play with it during "the skirt season". {buy}

7. A box of all-natural, aspartame-free Peppersmith mints is a little something I carry in my bag to use after a meal or freshen my breath if needed. They taste wonderful, made without sugar and contain xylitol that reduces bad bacteria and protects tooth enamel. As I was looking for the official site, I realised that there's also a chewing gum, so will be stocking on it, too. {buy}

8. BaByliss Thermo-Ceramic Rollers turned out to be such a wonderful purchase! I got them about  a month ago thinking how my hair seems to have a life of its own and look unpredictable no matter how much time I spend blowdrying it. I gave in and bought the rollers and now, if I have a bad hair day (or simply want to have curls) I stick these guys in and end up with beautiful waves that actually last. I wouldn't use them every day, but it's a fantastic back-up for those moments when the life is already stressful enough to worry about hair having its moment, too. {buy}

9. Tabitha James Kraan 4-in-1 Conditioner is something you can use as a conditioner, treatment and, my favourite way, styling product. It helps to hold the curls and add some extra volume while working as a hair treatment. Such a winner in a hair department. {buy}

10. Kevin Murphy Born.Again treatment is one of my favourite hair products of all times. I've used it for at least half a decade, that's how much I love it. I use it once in a while when my hair needs extra TLC, apply it for 20 minutes and let the Omega's, shea butter, vitamins and proteins make my hair super silky and smooth - one application is enough to get fab results. {buy}

    1. You may like my other beauty-related posts, too, I think. I've been using organic and natural make-up and beauty cosmetics for the last few years and blogged about my favourite in the past.

      And isn't Tan Organic amazing? :)

  3. I'm so glad to see a set of hot rollers made this list! I mainly use the sponge version to avoid heat damage but sometimes a girl just needs beautiful curls quickly - and my beloved hot rollers, a set my mum bought in the 70s, have finally stopped working just recently. I'll be on the hunt for that Babyliss set now :)

    1. Honestly, I was worried about the heat damage, too, but I've tried a similar set last year and it worked really well. This one is even better because it has to settings, so I use 1 (for thin/fragile hair, just in case) and it's been ok so far. :) I've also read somewhere (or saw on youtube...?) that you can actually switch off the thingie and let the rollers cool down a little bit before styling the hair, but I haven't tried it yet. x
