Heart broken... Absolutely, totally, indescribably heart broken over the news about Alber Elbaz leaving Lanvin after 14 years of what I will always remember as one of the most beautiful reigns in the history of fashion. The exit seem to be caused by tensions between the designer and company owners according to WWD that shared the news earlier today before the official statement is issued on Friday.
Can you even imagine Lanvin without Elbaz? No, me neither. Right now I find it incredibly difficult to string my thoughts together. I do hope his departure means that Dior bosses can now talk him into becoming the brand's creative and this time he will agree... Right now, it's only speculations.
Another question I have is how Lanvin is going to recover from such a loss and find a designer able to fill Elbaz' shoes both on creative and personal level because, lets face it, we, women, might have fallen in love with Lanvin dresses, but we have also been in love with the man who made them... And it was never a kind of love that would evaporate easily.
