"Cadmium Orange evokes a sentiment of optimism, fun and fantasy. Both playful and sophisticated in its appeal, the a warm, welcoming and subtly dramatic hue that is striking enough to stand on its own or act as a bold contrast." In other words, this is the colour to celebrate the arrival of Halloween in style!
Yes, cadmium orange may seem like a difficult shade to wear because it is, which doesn't mean that the colour will turn you into a pumpkin should you decide to wrap your entire self in a colour of saffron and fire. Not. At. All. Princess? Yes. Pumpkin? No.
The easiest way to introduce orange would be, indeed, through beautiful accessories - a bag (here I am secretly thinking of Bikins and Kellys like a couture-trained Pavlov's dog), a scarf or a pair of gloves, statement jewellery or a pair of gorgeous heels. They will work with at least half of your existent wardrobe.
And if you are brave enough to wear an orange dress or blouse, but not quite sure how to make it work, play with different textures (wool, silk, suede, velvet or even rich brocades), and think of the piece as canvas that may need a few subtle additions: a touch of white closer to your face, or a little black, purple, shocking pink if it looks good on you, sometimes a long necklace is all it takes to pull everything together. Personally I also like the result of pairing orange with soft rose or a little khaki - the first duo ends up looking romantic and happy while the other one - very elegant, sort of Hermes...
And talking of Hermes... If orange wasn't a good colour to play with, it would never become of the brand's signatures, right?
