My Pre-Fall 2016 favourites

22/12/2015

looks from Pre-Fall 2016 so far... Denis Basso Pre-Fall 2016, Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2016, Maiyet Pre-Fall 2016, Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2016, Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2016, Tomas Maier Pre-Fall 2016, Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2016, See by Chloe Pre-Fall 2016, Altuzarra Pre-Fall 2016, Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2016, Fendi Pre-Fall 2016 via www.fashionedbylove.co.uk british fashion blog
The Waltz of Flowers was playing in the background as I sat down to type my style confessions also known as Pre-Fall favourites. The sparkling melody from the Nut Cracker was perfect for setting the mood (ah, Christmas!), a quick swirl of distant memories (ah, a night at Bolshoi watching the ballet and then running through the purple blizzard to catch a cab) and a exciting sensation of new and unknown expressed through fashions... Yes, there are times when pre-falls leave me grumpy, so it's always a joy to welcome the new ones that resonate.

Dennis Basso surprised me a lot. It was a youthful fantasy of weightless summers and gorgeous tales.

Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of Alexander Wang, the man, but this coat was just perfect, so very perfect I had to include it. The shape, the cut, the rows of buttons, the colour - ah, just beautiful!

Another perfect wrap, this time from Maiyet...

And some camel from Michael Kors - paired with the most gorgeous lace dress and pumps for a flawless evening outfit.

The epitome of femininity and daydreaming came from Monique Lhuillier. Just love this...

Tomas Maier does luxe simplicity like nobody else. His latest collection was beautiful, albeit in need of ironing or steaming here and there, so I limited myself to two outfits, the best ones for me.

Maier's Bottega Veneta was also rather special... Again, he and his team made complicated craft look effortless. I adore the rich tones and metamorphic stripes of the first outfit and romantic flair of the delicate dress.

See by Chloe is a long-time favourite that never disappoints. The 1970s feel, the gold buckle detail and this whole scene of colours and lines are utterly perfect. Fingers crossed, it's not polyester.

And now lets admire the powdery fashion confections and strong matter-of-fact accessories from Altuzarra (that bag!!!)...

So these are my little joys, dreams and wishes - what about you?

  1. I typically don't pay much attention to collections like pre-fall, which I often feel like focus and are just a distraction from what is to come. But I did love Monique Lhullier this year. That white gown!
