Philosophy of fashion

Whenever I am asked why on Earth did I end up studying Economics, the answer is always the same: "The English language and Philosophy courses were fantastic." In fact, the more I process my memories, the more I realised that the most treasured experience of my University life was the company of people and the precious friendships and loves that formed at the time. Everything else, all the challenges and occasional boredom (I mean, we had to study metal industry and alloy composition at one point!) didn't really matter...

Philosophy, on the other hand, was a totally different story - I loved it. Loved the feeling of disconnecting with the buzz of the world, the word play and multidimensional and sometimes twisted perceptions of life and emotions. There was some kind of beauty in those musings - natural, grotesque, provoking - and always captivating and fruitful for the mind.

Now, done with the past and personal, lets talk about fashions.... Another Philosophy that I've always been in love with. First, designed by Ferretti herself, now - Lorenzo Serafini who is doing such a fantastic job that I can't help but feel drawn to his collections and the promise of fantasy and youthful, careless freedom it gives, though, ironically it is the military style coat that I'd choose as my favourite thing among these beautiful offerings.

That and the lace dress underneath. But that's the thing about Philosophy - it offers so many options and views that every woman can find something that resonates with her inner charm and feelings whether she wants to run through a field of wild flowers, dance in the rain, bathe in the mellow tunes of Vertinsky or have a matter-of-fact coat that conceals the vulnerable fibres of the soul.

  4. It is funny, what we study and how we end up spending our lives afterwards. I was in fine arts in university, primarily in writing courses and language courses - and now I spend my days working the disabled! But the one thing I have loved all along has been fashion and these photos are a wonderfully dreamy way to start my Friday :)

  8. Exquisite design. Love the textures, cables with ruffles, a staunch uniform look with an edgy shoe as whimsy, the soft florals and the cozy fur recall a small stuffed rabbit that was my daughter's favorite....
lovely editorial! I can see all of your studies developed your mind into a well rounded beautiful thing! Brava!
