Revisiting Akris collections from the past is my form of visual meditation because there is a lot of harmonious calmness about the brand and everything Albert Kreimler sends down the runway. This is the place and time when fashion stands still, but the style and elegance blossom like one of the Hermann Foersterling roses allowing the clothes create their own story, outside any trends, but simply according to the canons of good taste.
If I were given a chance to have any of these pieces here and now, I would not hesitate a bit. I love the coats that swish lavishly, I love the trousers that fall in their perfect silky wooly heaviness and I even love the velvet suit and how the palpable fabric was shadowed by layer of an airy organza, just to highlight its perfection and play with the earthy hues of the afternoon winter sky and withered leaves.
